Anger makes heart, mind and stomach sick

You must have heard people saying that the mind explodes in anger, but the reality is more dangerous than this. Anger makes the whole body sick. It spoils not only the mind, but also the heart and stomach. It gives rise to chronic diseases.

Dr. Ilan Shor Wittstein, cardiologist at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, says – Anger or frustration puts a lot of pressure on the body's neurohormonal system, which can lead to emergency. Death can occur in the long run. Anger affects everything from our cardiovascular system to our nervous system.

Anger affects every part of the body

Effects of anger on the heart: Dr. Wittstein, specialist in Broken Heart Syndrome, says – Anger narrows the arteries. If there is already a cardiovascular disease such as high BP or high cholesterol, then a heart attack can occur. Dr. Wittstein says – With anger increasing BP, shrinking of nerves, digestive cells are released from the immune system. It all happens together. This blocks the arteries.

Mind cannot take decisions: An angry mind cannot take right decisions. Dr. Royce Lee, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Chicago, says – When excited for a specific reason, the brain also motivates to do something. Lee says- Man says and does in anger, which he does not like. Anger weakens the memory. Can't concentrate on anything.

Stomach discomfort: Emotions and the stomach are closely related. Due to anger, gastro problems start happening. Food is not digested. Constipation starts. Doctor Atinzin says- In anger, the abdominal muscles become more active. Sometimes the intestines move out of their place. This can lead to diarrhoea. Sometimes, due to anger, stomach cramps also start happening. Sometimes the appetite stops.

keep yourself fit and get enough sleep

Dr. William Berg, clinical psychologist and professor at Yale School of Medicine, says- It is not always possible to stop anger, but we can reduce it. Keep yourself fit with meditation, pranayama and get enough sleep. This will reduce anger.
